Madonnina del Pescatore

On the Marzocca seafront, towards Senigallia, there is the shrine of the Madonnina del Pescatore, on the beach, close to the low wall. Its particular turret shape suggests a small lighthouse, a point of reference and protection for fishermen. Built in the 1930s, the aedicule is made of brick, rests on a brick base, and has a four-pitched roof. The main facade contains a glass niche enclosing the wooden statue of the Virgin. In 1991 it was restored and a red stone was added to the mess hall and the step below the statue.

The shrine is a daily place of devotion and prayer. Holy Mass and a feast are celebrated on August 15th, attended by the faithful, fishermen, and tourists.
