From sunset to sunrise, from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., 100 metres of beach on Lungomare Italia in Marzocca, with rocks, boats, hoists, fishpots and nets, are converted for one night into a stage of contemporary time, with a sequence of workshops, debates, performances, video and sound installations, dj-sets, readings, and tastings. The project, designed by Cristiana Colli and Pippo Ciorra, is a 12-hour uninterrupted flow dedicated to contemporary culture - art, architecture, design, food, culture and innovation - a representation of the Adriatic Sea and the beach as a public space and a meeting place. Demanio Marittimo Km-278 pays special attention to young Italian design, offering every year a lab for proposals, in the form of contests to design the beach stage, the merchandising and the street food dish of the event.
Demanio Marittimo.Km-278: The beach as a metaphor. The beach is a place of thoughts and dialogues, a junction of imagination, a platform for cultural, economic and artistic relations. Beach is a threshold, infrastructure, approach and destination.
