Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi

Indigenous white grape variety from which the homonymous wine is obtained, Jesi’s Verdicchio is produced by numerous and award-winning wineries in Val Mivola .

The geographical area dedicated to the production of Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi DOC wine is located near the Esino river, in certain territories of the provinces of Ancona (including ours) and Macerata, historically Castles because they gravitate

in the politics and economy of Jesi which in 1194 gave birth to Frederick II of Swabia . The production area is adequately ventilated, bright and conducive to carrying out all the vegetative-productive functions of the vineyards.

The wine has a straw yellow color with greenish reflections. The nose reveals notes of white flowers and aromatic herbs, aromas of fruit, citrus, apple and peach. On the palate it has good body and structure, with lively freshness. It is one of the Italian white wines that has an excellent propensity for medium and long aging, with the development of tertiary characters of great finesse.

Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Doc should be served at a temperature of 8/10 ° C.

It is a white with good structure and character and is perfect to accompany a fish menu, even an important one. Excellent with pasta with clams and mussels, spaghetti with fish sauce, baked sea bream and red snapper, bream in crazy water, sea bass in salt, lobster and shellfish in general.

Try it in pairing with fresh or slightly seasoned cheeses.

For the more structured versions, the classic territorial combination is with rabbit in porchetta.
