The Marconi brothers A dream that comes true

Just make sure not to miss Orientexpress, the art laboratory that will fascinate you beyond reality… A dreaming atmosphere from a fairy tale world magically surrounds unique creations that are completely made with handicraft techniques.

For over twenty years Anna and Lorenzo Marconi have expressed their art using materials such as wood, ceramic, glass, papier-mâché, and textiles. Their favourite characters include dolls, dream-like creatures, bathers and peasants, all of them with an original personal style.

Thanks to their creativity and research, the Marconi brothers won the first prize for the best mask at Venice Carnival with “Pinocchio’s fairy tale” in 2004; the first prize for the best mask of all Italian Carnivals in Abano Terme with “His Majesty’s delight” in 2005 and “The fat woman” in 2012; again in Venice with “Travelling on the Orient Express” in 2007 and “Versailles tailor” in 2009.

They were awarded the first prize at Venice Carnival with “In search of lost time” in 2013; “Monsieur Sofà and mademoiselle Cocò” in 2015 and “Senigallia’s bathers” in 2016.

Because of these prestigious awards, the Municipality of Senigallia paid homage to the two artists in the summer of 2012 with an exhibition held in the city landmark Rotonda a Mare. This was the birth of the first edition of “L’Estetica dell’Effimero”.
